Ye Olde Oxford 'Monopoly' Drinking Houses Challenge Event - 2025 Saturday 5th July 2025
This year at least a dozen ole men (and a few ladies) staggering and stumbling around the streets of Oxford, visiting a fair few pubs and drinking one or two pints (non alcoholic drinks are also available) but mainly enjoying themselves. This year we visited some of the oldest pubs in Oxford, totalling around 17, four of them, Lamb & Flag, The Wheatsheaf, Jolly Farmers and The White Rabbit, being genuine Free Houses. And we were not disappointed, there were some great real ales to enjoy in every pub.
The first drinking establishment was the Lamb & Flag in St. Giles, where we gathered at midday. Optional was the meet up at Browns Café in The Covered Market, for breakfast at around 11am.
